Dr. Marc J. Milia specializes in shoulder surgery (ACL surgery) and sports medicine. If at all possible, he favors the non-surgical treatment and approach for his patients. Should the injury or ailment warrants surgical management, Dr. Milia will utilize advanced, minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Milia offers arthroscopic surgery in the treatment for the majority of shoulder disorders including rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability (dislocations), labral tears and SLAP lesions. Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery can be performed utilizing patellar tendon, hamstring, cadaver grafts or double bundle ACL. The choice is made after Dr. Milia guides and educates the patient regarding the goals of their activity level.
Dr. Milia is a consulting orthopaedic surgeon for Wayne State University and the Detroit Lions. He also cares for high school athletes from the Dearborn, Annapolis, Romulus, Grosse Ile, Woodhaven, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, Trenton, Wyandotte, New Boston/Huron, and Riverview area schools.
